Anita J. 'Butchie'
Hooper
Anita J. “Butchie” Hooper, 66, of
East Liberty, Ohio, died Saturday, August 30, 2008, at The Ohio State
University Medical Center in Columbus.
She was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio,
on September 16, 1941, a daughter of the late James E. and Ruth Irene
Herford Houchin. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fredrick P.
Houchin and James L. Houchin.
She was married to Doug Hooper in
East Liberty, Ohio, and he preceded her in death July 31, 2005.
Survivors include four daughters,
Diane (Richard) Liles of Urbana, Ohio; Iona Ruth (Don) Lockwood of West
Liberty, Ohio; Marilyn Kaye (John) Moffett and Kelly (Scott) Hart, both
of Marysville, Ohio; a brother, John R. Houchin of Bellefontaine; five
sisters, Wanda (Eddie) Byrge and Linda Scherer, both of Bellefontaine,
Evelyn K. (Dick) Burchett of DeGraff, Ohio; Angel (Mike) Shaffner of
Quincy, Ohio, and Heidi Palmer of Trenton; 10 grandchildren, Richie and
Ashley Liles, Emily, Mary, Georgia and Thomas Lockwood, Jeremy Moffett,
Destyn and Stormie Jordan and Tracy Rush; and many nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, she was a member of the
North Greenfield United Methodist Church. Her children and grandchildren
were the joy of her life.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will conduct the
funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008, at the Eichholtz
Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday evening and one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial is
in Middleburg Cemetery.
